After completing my training with 'Engage', I have been volunteering at a primary school for the past two years. I've found the coordinators to be highly supportive and approachable, and we convene every term to discuss the mentorship programme. The school staff are both welcoming and appreciative. On a weekly basis, I support two students, and I value being able to determine the number of sessions we hold together with the child. It's truly delightful to get to know them and to nurture a supportive relationship. We are collectively cognizant of the many struggles that children face, especially in the wake of the pandemic, and it's immensely fulfilling to contribute to an organisation that is positively impacting our local children and young people.
